The Club is situated at Llyn Brenig, a premier fishing reservoir, attracting some 12,000 visitors each year. Llyn Brenig includes a nature reserve and has around 900 acres of water available for sailing. It's about 3 miles by 2 miles, The reservoir is at a height of 1200 feet, which means good strong clean winds. The Club which was founded in 1977 has a purpose built, spacious clubhouse located near to the Welsh Water visitor's centre. The clubhouse is built on land leased from Welsh Water, who have actively supported the development of the Club. The clubhouse was extended in 2000 with generous support the Sports Council for Wales (SPORTLOT) and Conwy County Borough Council.
The Club, which is family centred, and caters for able bodied and disabled Members, provides for both casual and competitive sailing. Club racing is held every Sunday (3 races) and the Club has hosted several area championships - GP14s, Solo. Each year the Welsh Area Challenger Championships are held at Llyn Brenig.

If you don't have a boat of your own there are always helms looking for keen crews. Indeed crewing for an experienced helm is an excellent way to get started in this exciting sport. The Club has six experienced RYA Instructors and runs training courses each year, usually over Saturdays in June and July.
The Club has two safety boats, of which one is always on patrol on Sunday, during races. Training in the use of the safety boats is also provided.
The good
winds and open water attract members from afar, including Cheshire, Shropshire, Wirral and mid
and north Wales. The sailing season starts at the beginning of April
and continues through until the end of November. The Club participates
in competitions with other clubs and holds it's own Regatta in September each
year. During the Winter the Club organises a number of social events for those
interested.
