The Galley
Not wanting to see all you ardent sailors go hungry, I have responded to the Committee's pleas for someone to come forward and take up the provisioning of the galley.
If you are on a galley duty, then we have arranged for a large variety of food to be available. Most of the food is either in the fridge, the freezer or the food cupboard. A key to the food cupboard is attached to the bunch of keys in the key safe in the galley.
When I come up, I'll bring any perishables needed that day, ie, potatoes and bread. When I am not available then one of the Sychdyn members will bring them up. Alternatively, I might ring the person on galley duty to purchase the perishables and bring them to the club. Please leave your receipt in the cash box and take out what you are owed from petty cash. At the end of the day please give the cash box to someone coming up the next Sunday.
When it's a little slack during the day, find the Galley Stocking List and put a tick in the last column where there is a need for me to bulk purchase the non-perishables. Either give the form to me, or ring me with the details if one of the Ravenscroft family isn't there. If we all co-operate, then the work involved with the galley will be relatively effortless, the menu varied and we should generate a handsome profit for club funds too.
By the way, the many male chefs now demonstrating on TV how to cook leads us to feel that you males on duty could show us ladies a thing or too about cooking. So please take a spell of duty in the galley and allow us ladies to help out on the safety boat - like you always want to.
